London Fit Out is proud to have recently completed the new Zeit für Brot (Time for Bread) bakery at 1 Islington High Street, within The Angel Building.

Zeit für Brot has been crafting exceptional bread in Germany since 2009 and has now brought its celebrated baking culture to London — baking fresh, day and night.

The project involved stripping the former Barclays Bank unit back to shell and core and delivering a fully new retail bakery environment across two floors. The space includes welcoming customer seating areas, fully fitted bakery kitchens, and dedicated storage areas. A standout feature is the glass-fronted baking area, allowing customers to see, hear, and smell the baking process — creating a truly immersive bread experience.

Our team delivered a full Design & Build solution for Mechanical and Electrical services, carefully coordinated with Zeit für Brot’s corporate joinery, bespoke counters, and retail shelving. These elements were complemented by micro-screeded flooring throughout the front-of-house, resulting in a warm, contemporary space that enhances the customer journey at this iconic London location.
