Located on the 8th floor of the iconic Lacon House, Syzygy required a CAT B headquarters that reflected their creative energy while taking full advantage of the building’s panoramic views over the City of London. Operating under a JCT Traditional contract with Contractor’s Design Portion (CDP), London Fit Out delivered a 10,000 sq ft workspace that balances open-plan productivity with striking architectural features. The design was centred on a “City Vista” concept, ensuring that the new staff breakout areas and kitchens were positioned to maximise natural light and provide employees with an inspiring backdrop of the London skyline.

The Kinetic Reception & Modular Pods – The project’s aesthetic “hook” is the bespoke reception area, which features a unique, feature moving desk designed to offer flexibility for events and day-to-day operations. Directly behind this central hub, LFO constructed a series of bespoke open meeting pods. These semi-private spaces were finished with precision-engineered wood-slat walls, providing a warm, tactile contrast to the modern office environment. This clever use of modular design allows for “quiet zones” within the open-plan layout, catering to the diverse working styles of a modern digital agency.

Technical excellence was integrated into every facet of the floorplate. Our specialist sub-contractors worked in close harmony with the design team to ensure the seamless integration of high-specification mechanical services, electrical infrastructure, and advanced AV installations. A dedicated new comms room was established to support the agency’s heavy data requirements, while the final office furniture solution was meticulously coordinated by LFO to ensure that form and function were perfectly aligned. This collaborative approach ensured that the “invisible” technology supported the “visible” design without compromise.

Navigating Shared Environments – The greatest challenge of the Syzygy project was the “Live Building” environment. Lacon House was undergoing multiple simultaneous fit-outs across different floors, creating significant pressure on shared loading bays and goods lifts. LFO implemented a rigorous “Just-in-Time” delivery strategy, with every material movement booked weeks in advance to avoid site congestion. By successfully navigating these logistical bottlenecks and coordinating around other contractors, we maintained a high-tempo 10-week programme, delivering the project to a clinical standard and meeting the client’s strict occupation deadline.
