A High-Octane Hospitality Rescue in Notting Hill
The Vision: Bringing Mayfair Sophistication to Notting Hill. Following the success of their flagship Mayfair location, the owners of Peyotito sought to bring their refined modern Mexican concept to a 4,000 sq ft site in Notting Hill. After being let down by their original contractor, the client required a partner who could mobilise immediately. London Fit Out stepped in with just two weeks’ notice, committing to a gruelling 7-week fast-track programme to ensure the restaurant reached its immovable grand opening date. The goal was to create an intimate, high-end destination that balanced rustic Mexican textures with sleek, West London elegance.
The Terracotta VIP Suite & Feature Steel – Despite the compressed timeline, there was no compromise on craftsmanship. The basement level was transformed into a subterranean sanctuary, featuring a bespoke VIP room where the walls were meticulously hand-constructed from traditional terracotta. LFO also engineered and installed a new feature steel staircase and structural steelwork to unify the ground and basement levels. These heavy industrial elements were balanced by high-end finishes, including a professional-grade kitchen, a bespoke bar, and a dedicated DJ area designed for the restaurant’s transition from dining to late-night lounge.
The Indoor-Outdoor connection to maximize the restaurant’s presence on the vibrant Notting Hill streetscape, LFO overhauled the building’s frontage. We installed a new shop entrance featuring full-height opening doors that allow the restaurant to spill out onto the pavement during the summer months, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor dining experience. Inside, the WC facilities were finished to a luxury hotel standard, ensuring that every touchpoint of the customer journey reflected the brand’s premium positioning.
Logistical Precision in a Restricted Zone – The technical delivery was made significantly more complex by the site’s physical constraints. Located on a narrow Notting Hill street with absolutely no parking or loading access at the front of the unit, every delivery had to be choreographed with military precision. Our site team managed a “Just-in-Time” logistics strategy, manually handling high-value materials and heavy structural steel through a tight, high-traffic environment. By successfully navigating these bottlenecks and maintaining a 24/7 working rhythm, LFO delivered the project on the exact day of the grand opening, turning a potential disaster into a flagship success.
