Engineering a Modern Global Headquarters ALUK, a leader in high-performance aluminium systems, required an HQ that reflected the quality of their own products. Operating under a JCT Design & Build contract, London Fit Out undertook the total refurbishment of an 18,000 sq ft site. The project was as much a construction feat as it was an interior fit-out, involving a full strip-out of the legacy three-story office building and the addition of 6,000 sq ft of new space. This expansion was achieved through a complex steel-frame side extension and a ground-floor factory extension, requiring specialist piling and a redesigned underground drainage system to support new large-scale staff welfare facilities.

Architectural Identity: The new Glass Façade & Double-Height Showroom aligned the building with ALUK’s brand, LFO executed a dramatic external transformation. We replaced the dated office curtain walling with a high-performance glass façade across the entire building, instantly elevating the site into a modern corporate landmark. Inside, we created a stunning double-height showroom designed specifically to showcase ALUK’s structural systems in a gallery-style environment. This was complemented by a new entrance reception featuring a seamless poured resin floor that spans the entire ground level, providing a durable yet high-gloss, premium finish that ties the showroom and office areas together.

The scope extended deep into the operational side of the business. LFO designed and built comprehensive new changing rooms, WCs, and a large-scale staff cafeteria to serve the 200-strong warehouse and factory team. These welfare facilities were engineered for high-traffic durability while maintaining the same design language as the executive offices. Across the upper floors, we delivered a full CAT B office and meeting room fit-out, ensuring that the administrative and manufacturing arms of the business were unified under one high-specification roof.

From Car Park to Corporate Campus – The final phase of the 19-week project focused on the site’s “arrival experience.” LFO enhanced the external car park with new parking bay configurations and significant landscaping. We transformed the front of the warehouse with professional paving, architectural planting, and a bold, impressive corporate signage installation. By managing everything from the subterranean drainage and steel extensions to the final glass façade and interior furniture, LFO delivered a truly turnkey “campus” that has redefined ALUK’s operational presence in the UK.
